Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers about choosing acoustic panels, reducing room echo, planning quantities, and installing Lubad products.
What types of acoustic panels does Lubad offer?
Lubad offers felt acoustic panels, wood-slat panels, fabric acoustic systems, and decorative acoustic wall art. Explore the collections to compare materials, colours, dimensions, and designs for your home, office, or commercial interior in Kuwait.
Will acoustic panels stop noise from my neighbours or the street?
Sound-absorbing panels primarily reduce sound reflections inside a room. They do not, by themselves, soundproof walls or windows. Noise entering from outside may require sound-insulation measures involving walls, doors, windows, and gaps. Identify where the noise comes from before choosing a product.
Can acoustic panels help with echo during video calls or meetings?
Acoustic panels can help reduce room echo, which may make conversations and microphone recordings clearer. Results depend on the room’s surfaces, panel placement, and amount of treatment. They will not correct microphone faults, poor internet connections, or every source of background noise.
How many acoustic panels do I need?
First, decide whether you want to cover a wall for its appearance or treat a room’s echo. For wall coverage, divide the wall area by the selected panel’s coverage and round up. Allow separately for cuts and layout. Acoustic treatment also depends on the room’s purpose, surfaces, and installation.
For example, a rectangular panel measuring 240 × 60 cm covers 1.44 m². A 3 × 3 m wall therefore needs at least seven of these panels by area, before considering the installation layout.
Do I need to cover every wall with acoustic panels?
Usually, treating room echo does not require covering every wall. The appropriate amount depends on the room and how it is used. Targeted treatment can be more practical than choosing a fixed percentage without considering the space. Full-wall decorative cladding is a separate design choice.
Where should I place acoustic panels?
Placement should address the surfaces reflecting sound into the areas where people listen, speak, or record. In speaker-based rooms, first-reflection points are often important. For meeting rooms and other shared spaces, consider the seating arrangement and reflective surfaces rather than placing panels only where they look convenient.
Can I install acoustic panels behind my television?
Panels can form part of a decorative TV feature wall and contribute to room acoustic treatment. However, placing panels behind a TV alone does not guarantee that the room’s echo problem will be solved. Keep ventilation openings, electrical fittings, and access points clear, and follow the equipment and panel installation instructions.
What are Lubad’s wood-slat panels made from?
The Acoustic Slat Wood Panels listing specifies MDF boards with natural wood veneer. Check the selected product’s specifications for its dimensions and finish. A wood-slat panel and a felt panel have different constructions, so compare their installation requirements and acoustic information before ordering.
How are acoustic panels installed?
Installation depends on the product, its weight, the mounting surface, and whether it is being fitted to a wall or ceiling. Check the specific installation instructions and confirm which adhesives, fixings, or mounting components are required. Do not assume that one mounting method is suitable for every panel.
Can I use acoustic panels in a rented property?
Check your landlord’s permission and the condition of the mounting surface before installing panels. Adhesives and fixings may leave marks or damage paint during removal. If drilling or permanent mounting is not allowed, contact Lubad to discuss whether a suitable alternative is available for your project.
Can wall panels also be installed on a ceiling?
Only use a product on a ceiling when that application and its mounting method have been confirmed. Ceiling installation has different fixing requirements from wall installation. Check the product’s suitability, supporting surface, and installation instructions before purchasing.
How should I clean acoustic panels?
Follow the care instructions for the specific material and finish. Felt, wood veneer, and fabric should not automatically be cleaned in the same way. Before using water, cleaning chemicals, or solvents, confirm that the method is suitable for your selected product.
Can Lubad provide custom colours, dimensions, or commercial project solutions?
Lubad’s business services include custom acoustic design and options for project-specific colours and dimensions. Contact the business team to discuss your requirements. Available materials, sizes, installation scope, pricing, and lead times should be confirmed for your individual project.
What information should I provide when asking for help choosing panels?
Share the room’s length, width, and height, how the space is used, and the problem you want to solve. Photos or a simple layout can help explain the room. Include your preferred finish, approximate area, and whether you need decorative wall coverage, echo reduction, or help with sound travelling between spaces.
Why choose felt acoustic panels?
Felt acoustic panels combine decorative design with sound absorption to help reduce echo and reflected sound inside a room. Available in different shapes and colours, they can complement your interior while making conversations and everyday activities more comfortable. Results depend on the product, panel coverage and placement. Acoustic panels alone do not soundproof a room.
Are acoustic panels suitable for homes and offices?
Yes. Acoustic panels can help reduce echo in living rooms, home offices, meeting rooms and shared workspaces. They are particularly useful in rooms with hard surfaces, such as bare walls, glass and tiled floors, where sound reflects easily. Choose the panel material, design and placement according to the room’s purpose and installation requirements.
Can acoustic panels be removed and reused?
Some acoustic panels can be relocated and reused, depending on their mounting system and condition. Panels installed with removable mechanical fixings may be easier to relocate than those bonded with adhesive. Removal can damage the panel, paint or wall surface, so reuse cannot always be guaranteed. If you plan to move your panels later, confirm a suitable installation method before fitting them.
